Vinícius Mozer named director of Caprichosos de Pilares samba school

Vinícius Mozer has been appointed the new Director of Carnival for the Caprichosos de Pilares samba school in Rio de Janeiro. The school will compete in the Série Bronze division in 2027, with its parade scheduled for February 9 on the Intendente Magalhães route.

Mozer brings extensive experience in Rio's carnival scene, having begun with Estácio de Sá, where he won two championships, and later serving as Commercial Director for Em Cima da Hora, part of the Lins Imperial carnival team. He also directed the Guerreiros Tricolores, led Império da Tijuca to a "Desfile do Ano" award in 2025, and worked with Unidos de Ponte in the Série Ouro. He said, "For me arriving at Caprichosos de Pilares is a true gift. It is a school I have always cherished and we will work hard to bring it back to the Marquês de Sapucaí."
