Vincy Jewels qualify for 2027 Netball World Cup

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines national netball team, known as the Vincy Jewels, has secured qualification for the 2027 Netball World Cup in Sydney, Australia. The team clinched their spot after a 55–53 extra-time victory over Saint Lucia at the Americas qualifier held in Barbados.

Finishing second in the tournament, the Vincy Jewels earned their place alongside Trinidad and Tobago. The team recorded six wins out of seven matches during the week-long competition, with their only loss coming against Trinidad and Tobago. Their campaign included victories over the United States, Canada, the British Virgin Islands, Barbados, and Grenada.

This marks the first time the nation will compete in the Netball World Cup since 2003. The qualification comes amid local political discussion regarding the tournament's location; while St. Vincent and the Grenadines was originally awarded the hosting rights for the qualifiers, the NDP Cabinet withdrew from hosting the event in February 2026, leading the competition to be held in Barbados instead.
