Vinegar serves as an effective household remedy for removing shower limescale
Vinegar and vinegar essence serve as effective, low-cost, and environmentally friendly alternatives to commercial cleaners for removing limescale from shower cabins, glass surfaces, and fixtures.
The acidity in vinegar reacts with calcium carbonate to dissolve deposits. For standard cleaning, household vinegar with a 5 to 10 percent acidity level is recommended. For more stubborn buildup, vinegar essence with 25 percent acidity can be used if diluted with water at a 1:3 ratio.
To apply, the solution should be sprayed onto the surfaces and allowed to sit for 15 to 30 minutes. After the waiting period, the residue can be wiped away with a soft sponge or microfiber cloth and rinsed with clear water. For fixtures like showerheads, soaking them in a cloth drenched in vinegar water for several hours is suggested.
