VinFast aims for break-even by 2027 and expands sustainability agenda

Vietnamese automaker VinFast announced plans to reach profitability in its home market by 2027, a target presented by deputy CEO Anne Pham at the Bloomberg Sustainable Business Summit in Singapore. The company sees breakeven as a milestone for scaling operations and attracting investors amid intense competition in the global electric‑vehicle (EV) sector.

VinFast also highlighted its long‑term sustainability strategy, committing to an all‑electric vehicle lineup and joining The Climate Pledge to achieve net‑zero emissions by 2040. Its initiatives include energy‑efficient manufacturing, development of charging infrastructure, and a partnership with India's BatX Energies to recycle batteries and recover critical materials such as lithium and cobalt. Execution of these plans will determine the firm’s future market position and environmental impact.
