VinFast Stadium construction advances in Hanoi, Vietnam
Construction is progressing on the VinFast Stadium in Hanoi, Vietnam, a project intended to become the largest football arena in the world. Located within the Hung Vuong international sports complex, the stadium is being developed by the Vingroup conglomerate.
Originally named Trong Dong to honor the traditional bronze drum culture, the project was renamed VinFast Stadium to honor the automotive brand under the same corporate umbrella. The design features a prominent golden dome inspired by the 'trong dong' bronze drum.
Work began in late 2025, and due to rapid progress, the completion timeline has been moved up from August 2028 to July 2027. The concrete structure is expected to be finished by the end of 2026. Once completed, the stadium is projected to hold 135,000 spectators, surpassing the capacity of North Korea’s Rungrado 1st of May Stadium.
