VinFast unveils commercial version of VF Wild electric pickup

VinFast displayed a pre‑production version of its VF Wild electric pickup at an internal event, showing design changes that move the model closer to mass‑production. The new prototype replaces the concept’s digital side‑mirrors with conventional mirrors, uses manually adjustable seats and a manual central mirror, and simplifies the interior while retaining LED projector headlights and large wheels.

The vehicle’s powertrain remains unconfirmed, but rumours on social media suggest an Extended‑Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) system, where a gasoline engine acts only as a generator to extend driving range. VinFast has not issued an official statement on the drivetrain, and the model is positioned to compete with mid‑size pickups such as the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux in Vietnam.
