VinFast VF 6 features IP67-rated powertrain for Philippine weather

VinFast Philippines is promoting the VF 6 electric crossover as a solution for the country’s challenging weather and road conditions. A key feature of the vehicle is its IP67-rated powertrain and 59.6 kWh battery pack, which are engineered to resist dust ingress and withstand temporary water immersion for up to 30 minutes.

To assist with wet-weather driving, the VF 6 includes 170mm of ground clearance, an Electronic Stability Program, traction control, and electronic brakeforce distribution. The vehicle also features heated side mirrors and defoggers to maintain visibility during heavy rain.

The emphasis on weather-ready engineering comes as the Philippines faces increasingly unpredictable monsoon seasons. Recent data from PAGASA and the MMDA highlighted extreme rainfall levels in Metro Manila, which have triggered flash floods and significant traffic disruptions.
