Vinh Long court sentences Thach Chanh Tra to prison

Thach Chanh Tra, a resident of Vinh Long province, has been sentenced to three years and six months in prison for abusing democratic freedoms to infringe upon the interests of the State and the legal rights of organizations and individuals.

Between 2023 and April 2026, the defendant used a Facebook account to livestream, post articles, and participate in online discussions containing false, distorted, and slanderous content regarding state agencies and local authorities. The court noted that these actions had significant views and shares on social media, negatively impacting public security and the implementation of ethnic and religious policies. During the investigation, the defendant admitted to all crimes and expressed remorse.
