Vinh Long police arrest deputy director for industrial waste pollution

The Vinh Long Provincial Police have initiated criminal proceedings against three individuals for environmental pollution involving Phu Long Joint Stock Company. Le Minh Phuc, the company's Deputy Director, has been arrested and detained.

Two other individuals, Le Minh Dung and Dang Quoc Huy, have been placed under house arrest. Investigations indicate that between March and May 2024, Phuc allegedly directed the burial of approximately 48 tons of industrial waste within the company's workshop and garage areas at the Hoa Phu Industrial Park.

Authorities determined that over 4.1 tons of the buried material contained exceptionally hazardous components that exceeded legal safety thresholds. The investigation is ongoing.
