Vinh Long police detain man for motorcycle theft

Vinh Long provincial police have issued a detention warrant for Le Quoc Viet, born in 2001, following an investigation into the theft of a motorcycle.

The incident was reported on September 25, 2026, by Nguyen Thanh Duoc, who stated his motorbike had been stolen. Following an investigation, authorities identified Viet as a suspect. Viet reportedly admitted to stealing the vehicle and pawning it for 2 million VND to cover personal expenses.

A criminal asset valuation council determined the stolen motorcycle was valued at 6 million VND at the time of the theft. Authorities noted that Viet has a prior criminal record involving a five-year prison sentence for theft and is a known illegal drug user. The case remains under investigation by the Vinh Long Provincial Police.
