Vinh Long police prosecute 15-year-old for attempted murder

The Vinh Long Provincial Police have prosecuted and detained Nguyen Chi Cuong, a 15-year-old resident of Binh Minh, for attempted murder and the illegal use of military-grade weapons.

The incident occurred on November 2, 2025, following a traffic collision involving the girlfriend of an 18-year-old acquaintance of Cuong. During a confrontation at the Binh Minh Water Park, a group of youths attempted to resolve the dispute through compensation and medical assistance. However, the situation escalated when an associate of Cuong attempted to attack one individual with a knife and a helmet.

In response, Cuong used a highly lethal knife to stab L. M. N. multiple times, causing serious injuries. Although the victim managed to escape, authorities noted the violent nature of the attack. Cuong was subsequently detained after committing further legal violations while the initial investigation was ongoing.
