Vinh Long recognizes 300-year-old Bạch Mai tree with Vietnam Record

The Vietnam Record Organization has officially recognized a 300-year-old Bạch Mai tree located within the Phu Tu Communal House grounds in Vinh Long as a “thousand-year-old ancient tree.” The tree features 10 secondary trunks, each with a circumference ranging from 75 to 130 cm, which developed from a single base through natural regeneration.

Additionally, the Vietnam Association for Protection of Nature and Environment designated a starfruit tree and a persimmon tree at the same location as Vietnam Heritage Trees. Both of these trees are estimated to be over 200 years old.

Officials noted that recognizing these trees serves to preserve biodiversity and environmental landscapes while safeguarding the historical and cultural memories of the local community. Local authorities aim to leverage this heritage tree complex to attract tourists and support the development of local tourism products.
