Vinh Long security guard detained for assaulting colleague with chain

Vinh Long Provincial Police have detained Dinh Van Luyen, a 43-year-old bank security guard, following a violent altercation with a colleague at a bank branch in Long Chau Ward.

The incident occurred on the evening of August 16 during a shift change. According to investigators, Luyen arrived late for his scheduled night shift, leading to a verbal dispute with the daytime guard, T. T. N. The confrontation escalated when Luyen used a metal chain, typically used for locking vehicles, to strike N. multiple times on the head and body.

N. sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Xuyen A Hospital in critical condition. Police are currently investigating the matter to handle the case in accordance with the law.
