Vinh repair shops see surge after historic rainfall

Following a historic rainfall in Vinh, Nghe An—described as a once-in-41-years event—local auto repair shops are experiencing a surge in business. The heavy rain on September 19 caused widespread flooding, submerging numerous cars and motorcycles.

As floodwaters receded, many vehicle owners were forced to transport their damaged cars to garages via tow trucks to avoid engine damage. Mechanics are working continuously to clean interiors, dry out electrical systems, and repair mechanical components. Repair costs for cleaning and basic maintenance are reported to range from 2 to 5 million VND, with significantly higher costs expected if engines are damaged.
