Vinicio Capossela performs ballad opera at Catanzaro's Festival d'Autunno

Vinicio Capossela and Pierpaolo Capovilla presented “E morte non avrà dominio” at the Teatro Politeama in Catanzaro as part of the XXIII edition of the Festival d’Autunno. The performance, described as a ballad opera, blends music, poetry, and theater to explore themes of memory, time, and social indifference.

The production features fifteen previously unreleased songs and draws inspiration from Dylan Thomas’s work, “Under Milk Wood.” The show serves as an emotional tribute to the late radio DJ Renato Striglia, utilizing the concept of the radio as a medium to connect with the voices of the past.

Artistic director Antonietta Santacroce praised the performance for its emotional depth and its ability to use art as a means of collective reflection. The event was supported by the Calabria Region.
