Vinicio Marchioni reveals past battle with bone cancer

Italian actor Vinicio Marchioni has revealed for the first time that he battled bone cancer in 2012. The 51-year-old actor disclosed the diagnosis during an interview regarding his upcoming book, ‘Le vite in atto’.

Marchioni discovered the illness while rehearsing for the theatrical production ‘Un tram che si chiama desiderio’. He noted that the experience forced him to re-evaluate his relationship with his own body, particularly as he was simultaneously working to portray the physically powerful character Stanley Kowalski.

Despite the physical challenges of surgery and physiotherapy, Marchioni described his career as an extraordinary motivator that helped him navigate the experience. He expressed a preference for privacy, stating, “I have never liked putting suffering on display.”
