Real Madrid gives Vinícius Jr ultimatum as Arsenal line up deal

Real Madrid has told Brazilian winger Vinícius Júnior that the contract offer it presented is final and will not be renegotiated. The club warned that if the player does not accept the terms, it will look to sell him in the current summer transfer window. Vinícius’ existing deal runs until June 2027, and the Spanish side wants to avoid losing him on a free transfer.

Arsenal have reportedly reached an agreement in principle on personal terms with Vinícius and are preparing a financial package of roughly €150 million, including a weekly wage of about £400 000, to meet the player’s demands. The Premier League champions say the deal would be the biggest signing in their history, but it still requires Real Madrid’s agreement. Real Madrid has also signalled that it will not break its wage‑structure for any player, and it is considering signing Yan Diomande as an alternative attacking option. If Vinícius rejects the offer, the club could sell him for around €160 million.
