Vinitaly launches Canadian outreach aboard Amerigo Vespucci in Quebec City
Italian wine fair Vinitaly presented its new edition on the Italian Navy training ship Amerigo Vespucci while the vessel was docked in Quebec City, Canada, during the Rendez‑vous Naval de Québec. The event, organized by the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) together with Veronafiere and Vinitaly, marks the first stop of the 2026 North‑American tour following a New York showcase.
Italian officials highlighted Canada as a strategic market for premium Italian wines. In the first five months of 2026, Italian wine imports to Canada reached CAD 278 million, a 9.3 % increase over the previous year. Ambassador Alessandro Cattaneo said the dual presence of Vinitaly and the ship underscores the strengthening economic and commercial ties between Italy and Canada.
