Vinka performs sold-out maiden solo concert in Kampala

Ugandan singer Veronica Nakiyingi, known professionally as Vinka, performed her first major solo concert, titled ‘Vinka Live & Loud’, at the Lugogo Cricket Oval on Friday, August 21. The event, organized by Swangz Avenue, was reported as a sold-out success despite preceding calls for a boycott and political criticism regarding the artist's personal associations.

Vinka performed a catalogue of over 50 songs, including hits such as ‘Malaika’, ‘Chips Na Ketchup’, and ‘Bailando’, using live vocals and energetic choreography. The production featured three outfit changes designed by Ugandan couturier Beryl Qouture and included several guest appearances from artists with whom Vinka has previously collaborated.

Swangz Avenue CEO Julius Kyazze described the concert as a celebration of Vinka’s professional evolution from a dancer and talent manager to a prominent solo artist. Vinka dedicated the performance to the fans who have supported her career since its inception.
