Vinkovci and Bužim advance municipal infrastructure projects

Local governments in Vinkovci, Croatia, and Bužim, Bosnia and Herzegovina, are advancing various municipal infrastructure and community development projects.

In Vinkovci, Mayor Josip Romić reported ongoing communal improvements aimed at upgrading traffic infrastructure and living standards. Recent works include street renovations in Slavija, Mirkovci, and various neighborhoods such as Mala Bosna and Novo Selo. The city is also prioritizing the construction of a unified bicycle and pedestrian network, connecting major routes including Kačićeva, Genscherova, and Jelačićeva streets.

In Bužim, the municipality is utilizing the ‘Marka građani – Marka Općina’ model, a collaborative initiative where citizens and the local government co-invest in the construction and reconstruction of uncategorized roads. Mayor Mersudin Nanić invited local communities and construction boards to submit project proposals for the 2027 budget, requiring citizens to specify their own financial contributions to the projects.
