Vinkovci grocery price comparison shows up to 25% variation

A price comparison of 15 basic household products in Vinkovci, Croatia, reveals significant price discrepancies between retailers. According to data from the CroCart platform, a basket of identical branded items cost €36.15 at Lidl, while the same items cost up to €45.35 at certain Konzum locations. This represents a price difference of approximately 25%, or €9.20, for the same basket of goods.

Notable price gaps were found in specific items, such as 500g packages of Barcaffè Classic ground coffee, which were priced at €7.69 in Lidl compared to €10.99 or more in other surveyed chains. The comparison included various staples including milk, yogurt, cheese, butter, oil, rice, pasta, coffee, pâté, tuna, mayonnaise, and water.

The CroCart platform allows consumers to compare prices across eight retail chains. Starting November 17, price publication requirements will expand to include all retailers, including smaller shops, and will cover both regular and promotional prices to assist consumers with budget planning.
