Vinnytsia region faces power outages following Russian attacks
Emergency power outages have been implemented in Ukraine's Vinnytsia region following a Russian offensive that damaged critical energy infrastructure. Key facilities in the area have transitioned to backup power sources while energy teams work to restore the electricity supply.
Nataliia Zabolotna, head of the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, stated that the power situation is expected to remain unstable for the near future. She advised residents to avoid using all electrical appliances simultaneously to prevent overloading the grid during the phased restoration process.
The region experienced similar outages on October 17 after another strike on energy infrastructure. During that incident, critical objects relied on generators and electric urban transport was briefly suspended. Previous attacks in the area have resulted in damage to civilian and critical infrastructure, as well as injuries to six people. Ukrainian air defense reportedly downed 24 drones over the region during recent operations.
