Vinolok expands to Italy with new partnership for glass wine closures
Vinolok, a leading producer of premium glass closures for wines and spirits, has opened its first international branch in Italy in partnership with Amorim Italia. The move aims to expand the use of glass sealing methods within the Italian market.
While glass-sealed wine has been available for approximately twenty years, the technology offers several advantages over traditional corks, including aesthetic appeal, marketing potential, and a favorable cost-benefit ratio. Additionally, the use of glass provides a sustainability advantage as it is made from natural raw materials.
From a technical standpoint, the company claims its patented closures provide a constant seal, citing an oxygen transfer rate (OTR) of 1.2 mg/year to ensure long-term stability.
