VinSpace signs SpaceX contract to launch first satellites in 2027

VinSpace, a Vietnamese aerospace company and subsidiary of the Vingroup conglomerate, has signed a contract with SpaceX to launch its first satellites into orbit in 2027. The mission will utilize SpaceX’s Transporter rideshare program, which allows multiple customers to share a single Falcon 9 rocket to reduce launch costs.

Under the agreement, VinSpace will be responsible for the research, development, manufacturing, and on-orbit operation of its satellites. The initial mission is intended as a technical test to verify in-house developed satellite modules in real orbital conditions. This move is part of VinSpace’s long-term strategy to become a full-stack aerospace company, covering the entire value chain from design and assembly to mission management and downstream data services.

This development is a significant step for Vietnam’s emerging space industry as the nation seeks to expand its aerospace capabilities and become a mid-level space power in Southeast Asia by 2030.
