VinSpeed high-speed railway project nears land clearance milestone

The high-speed railway project connecting Hanoi to Quang Ninh is approaching a critical infrastructure milestone. Developed by VinSpeed, a subsidiary of Vingroup, the project aims to provide a 23-minute transit route to Ha Long Bay, marking the first high-speed rail service in Vietnam.

Local authorities in Quang Ninh province are working toward a September 30, 2026, deadline to complete all land clearance and hand over clean land to the investor. As of mid-September 2026, approximately 175.62 hectares of land have been handed over out of a total required 273.41 hectares. In certain areas, such as Tuan Chau and Mao Khe wards, land clearance has reached 100%.

To ensure the project stays on schedule, local governments have implemented a high-intensity compensation and relocation campaign. Officials are prioritizing the rapid appraisal, approval, and disbursement of compensation funds to resolve remaining bottlenecks and prevent delays in the construction phase.
