Vintage collectibles and antique household items see rising market value
A growing interest in vintage and antique items is driving up the market value of various household objects found in attics and basements. Collectors and enthusiasts are increasingly seeking out specific categories of historical goods, ranging from furniture and porcelain to specialized tools and kitchenware.
In Poland, items categorized as ‘poniemieckie’ (post-German) have gained popularity online. This category includes a wide variety of goods such as clocks, mirrors, cutlery, coffee grinders, and even architectural elements like old doors, windows, and roof tiles used for renovations or interior design. Prices for these items can be significant; for example, antique pumps can sell for 950 PLN, harrows for 1,100 PLN, and vintage Panther bicycles from the 1940s for up to 2,400 PLN.
Similarly, vintage Tupperware containers from the 1960s and 1970s are experiencing a resurgence. Collectors specifically look for rare colors, such as mustard yellow or avocado green, and well-preserved sets. While individual pieces may sell for modest amounts, complete sets in excellent condition can reach prices near 900 PLN. The value of these items is heavily dependent on their condition, including the seal of the lids and the presence of original logos.
