Viola come il mare 3 debuts on Canale 5 with cast changes

The third season of the Italian fiction series Viola come il mare premiered on Canale 5 on November 4, 2026. The new season features a significant cast change, as actor Can Yaman, who played Inspector Francesco Demir in the first two seasons, does not return. Yaman previously indicated that professional commitments and long intervals between seasons influenced his decision to depart.

Argentine actor Rodrigo Guirao Díaz joins the cast as Massimo Paternò, a new police inspector in Palermo who also becomes the neighbor of protagonist Viola Vitale, played by Francesca Chillemi. The season follows Viola as she navigates new investigations, including a murder at a wedding and the death of a swimmer, while managing her personal life and her evolving relationship with Paternò.

The season debuted to a 17% audience share, drawing approximately 2.38 million viewers, outperforming competing programming on Rai 1. The series is produced by Lux Vide and Rti for Mediaset.
