Viola Davis and Sam Heughan to star in Paramount+ thriller Ascent
Paramount+ has announced that Viola Davis and Sam Heughan will star in the upcoming character-driven thriller Ascent. The series, created by John Logan, is set within the high-stakes world of global corporate crisis management and damage control.
Davis will portray Catriona, an elite corporate fixer who must utilize her professional skills to protect her estranged daughter. Heughan will play Conal, a top agent for Ascent Ventures described as a charming and ruthless operative.
The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios, with Logan serving as showrunner and executive producer. Other executive producers include Michael Aguilar and JuVee Productions, led by Davis and Julius Tennon. Production is expected to begin in Los Angeles.
