Selton Mello joins Viola Davis in Paramount+ series Ascent
Brazilian actor and director Selton Mello has been confirmed as a lead in the upcoming Paramount+ thriller series, Ascent. Mello will portray Leonardo, a charismatic and influential business tycoon with a complex history involving Ascent Ventures.
The series stars Viola Davis as Catriona Vail, an elite corporate crisis management specialist who must use her professional skills to protect her estranged daughter. The ensemble cast also includes Alfred Molina as Sebastian, the head of Ascent Ventures, Amy Madigan as Rachel, and Sam Heughan as Conal.
Created by three-time Oscar nominee John Logan, the production is described as a character-driven thriller set within the high-stakes world of global corporate reputation management and damage control. Filming is scheduled to begin in Los Angeles in 2027.
