Viola de Galgóczys releases English editions of fantasy series

Viola de Galgóczys’ fantasy series, ‘Lisa’s Adventures in Melandria’, has been released in English. The publication of Volumes 1 and 2 aims to bring the world of Melandria to an international audience beyond German-speaking regions.

The series follows thirteen-year-old Lisa, who discovers a mysterious book that transports her to Melandria. The first volume focuses on a dangerous time-related illness and the ambitions of a sorceress named Harpalyke, who seeks eternal youth and power through the Ring of Time. The second volume explores themes of loss and the connection to nature following the felling of a beloved walnut tree, while introducing a search for a mysterious seventh people.

The English editions were translated by Reinske Fokma, with editorial support from Helen Davies. The books feature illustrations by the author herself.
