Violapark project advances with new park opening and housing milestone
The Violapark urban development project in Vienna's Favoriten district has reached two major milestones: the official opening of the park itself and the completion of the structural shell for a new residential and care facility.
The newly opened 6,200-square-meter Violapark is designed to combine urban recreation with climate protection. The green space features 57 new trees, over 1,000 shrubs, a 1,400-square-meter flower meadow, and a 500-square-meter playground. The park includes a pergola, seating areas, and a water feature to provide relief during hot summer days.
Simultaneously, the construction of a modern, multi-generational residential and nursing home in Theodor-Sickel-Gasse has reached the 'roofing-in' stage. Developed by NEULAND in cooperation with the FORTUNA foundation, the complex is scheduled for completion by mid-2027. Once finished, it will provide approximately 100 nursing rooms and 110 apartments. The facility will also house a Primary Care Unit (PVE) to ensure medical services for the Laaer Berg area.
