Violence erupts involving Querétaro fans during Mexican football match

Violence involving Querétaro supporters resurfaced during the ‘Clásico de la 57’ match against Atlético de San Luis. The incident follows a history of unrest associated with the Querétaro fanbase in Liga MX.

This follows a significant tragedy on March 5, 2022, at the Estadio Corregidora, where an attack by the Gallos Blancos animation group against Atlas supporters resulted in numerous serious injuries. Despite Liga MX imposing bans on the Querétaro animation group across all Mexican stadiums, the group has remained involved in subsequent altercations, including clashes with Cruz Azul and Pumas supporters in 2023.
