Violence-focused academic events convene in Venezuela and Chile

The University of Los Andes in Venezuela hosted its second II Jornada de Psicología Social, titled “Psychology of Violence: a psychosocial approach,” featuring six presentations on theoretical perspectives of violence and drawing more than 330 participants.

In Chile, the Fundación Valientes organized a seminar called “Escuelas Valientes: an integral proposal for tackling school violence” at the University of Chile, gathering around 100 educators, students and officials to discuss gender‑equitable strategies. The program reported rising school‑violence complaints and highlighted improvements in peer‑bullying awareness and gender‑bias reduction among participating schools.
