Violence in Puebla and pedestrian accidents in León reported

In Puebla, Mexico, the Mercado Morelos area and the surrounding 10 de Mayo and 5 de Mayo neighborhoods have experienced a sustained increase in violence and criminal activity. Since investigations into organized crime began around 2010-2012, the sector has seen a rise in homicides, armed attacks, vehicle theft, and drug trafficking. The violence escalated between 2013 and 2018, spreading from the market into adjacent residential areas. Despite increased security operations and raids between 2019 and 2023, reports of shootings and armed attacks have continued, with 2026 seeing a significant concentration of violent incidents.

In León, Spain, the Eras de Renueva district has recorded a high concentration of pedestrian accidents. Out of 73 recorded accidents in the capital city as of August 10, twelve occurred in this district, primarily along Avenida de los Reyes Leoneses and near the Espacio León and León Plaza shopping centers. While no fatalities have been reported in these specific incidents, the frequency of accidents involving pedestrians remains a concern for local residents.
