Violence reported in West Belfast and Chicago shootings

Separate shooting incidents occurred in West Belfast and Chicago.

In West Belfast, a man in his 40s was shot in the leg in an alleyway between Falls Road and Ross Road on Sunday night. Detective Inspector Griffin stated that while the injuries are not life-threatening, they are severe and likely to cause lasting physical and emotional trauma. West Belfast MP Paul Maskey condemned the violence, stating it is unacceptable in the community.

In Chicago, a 15-year-old boy was shot in the leg outside a restaurant in West Garfield Park late Tuesday night. The victim was on the sidewalk of South Pulaski Road when an individual pulled a gun and fired. The teenager was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, and no arrests have been made.
