Amambay Department reports fatal shooting and discovery of body

In the Amambay Department of Paraguay, two separate violent incidents have been reported.

In Pedro Juan Caballero, 56-year-old Rosalino de Jesús Añasco was assassinated at his residence. An assailant on a motorcycle approached the home and fired multiple 9mm shots at Añasco while he was seated on his porch. Investigators are looking into various motives, including the possibility of a targeted hit, noting that the victim had recently returned to the country after residing in Brazil.

In a separate incident in Zanja Pytã, police discovered a body wrapped in a black tent within a forested area of the Virgen de Caacupé colony. The deceased is presumed to be 54-year-old Eleuterio Espinoza Borba, who had been reported missing earlier in the week. Authorities are working to confirm the identity and the circumstances surrounding the death.
