Violent assaults and racist insults erupt in Kulmbach, Germany

Late‑night incidents on July 29, 2026 in Kulmbach, Germany, involved multiple attacks on security personnel, police officers and civilians. Around 23:00 a 59‑year‑old man whose 25‑year‑old son from Görlitz had been banned from a beer tent returned despite a house ban. When a security guard tried to escort the son out again, the father assaulted the guard. Police intervened; the father also attempted to strike an officer before being restrained and fined. The son faces a breach‑of‑peace charge.

Shortly after, at about 23:25 on Pörbitscher Weg, a 34‑year‑old man from the Kulmbach district allegedly racially insulted two women. When a companion tried to intervene, he was also abused. The suspect then assaulted the companion with his hands and feet, causing minor injuries. Additional men accompanying the main offender also insulted the women. The 34‑year‑old faces charges of assault and insult, while his two companions are under investigation as well.
