Prague suspect detained for rape, burglary and related crimes
Prague police have detained a man suspected of multiple serious offenses, including sexual assault, burglary and robbery. The 48‑year‑old was arrested after investigations linked him to a rape that occurred in the city’s Liboc district in early July, as well as a series of break‑ins at private residences, a vehicle and a restaurant. He is also accused of attempting a robbery of two teenage girls with a knife.
According to police, the suspect has a extensive criminal record, having been tried ten times and most recently sentenced to twelve years for rape and robbery before being released on parole about six months ago. He is now being held in custody and faces a potential additional sentence of up to ten years if convicted.
