Violent assaults in Poland injure child in Bytów and taxi driver in Gdańsk

On 18 May 2026, a 12‑year‑old boy was attacked in the centre of Bytów (Pomeranian Voivodeship). Two adults—a woman and a man—approached the child, struck him in the face multiple times and the man interfered with his bicycle. The assault was captured on a video that spread online. Local police secured the footage, identified witnesses and the boy’s mother filed a complaint for bodily injury. An investigation is under way and prosecutors may pursue the case ex officio.

In the night of 14–15 May 2026, two 16‑year‑old males assaulted a taxi driver in the Kokoszki district of Gdańsk. The teenagers beat and kicked the driver and used a dangerous tool, causing multiple injuries that required medical treatment. After the attack they fled, then called emergency services to report the incident. Police arrested both suspects, who will appear before a juvenile court.
