Violent assaults in Verona and Casale Litta lead to house arrests and injury investigations in Italy

In Verona, three men aged 20‑25 were placed under house arrest with electronic bracelets after prosecutors charged them with attempted homicide and aggravated robbery. Investigators say the group lured a 23‑year‑old victim into a dark area, beat him with fists and a metal knuckle, broke his jaw and teeth, and pushed him off a slope, causing severe leg and facial injuries that resulted in permanent disability. The suspects include a Pakistani citizen, a Dominican national and two Italians; a fourth individual remains at large.

In Casale Litta, police closed an investigation stemming from a violent dispute on 13 March in a condominium complex. A 24‑year‑old Italian was detained after a 53‑year‑old man, the partner of the youth’s mother, was stabbed multiple times. Authorities say the young man intervened to protect his mother from the abusive partner. The case was downgraded from attempted homicide to injuries; the victim survived after treatment in Legnano hospital and a 19‑cm knife matching the wounds was recovered.
