Violent attacks on families in Mexico spark public outcry

A mother in the Roma neighborhood of Mexico City reported that a group of assailants used a child as a distraction before violently attacking her family on July 5, striking the adults and leaving the victims with injuries while the incident was shared widely on social media.

In the State of Mexico, residents of the Paseos de Chalco area allege that police officers driving a patrol vehicle in the wrong direction struck a five‑year‑old boy riding an electric bike, causing a fractured tibia and other injuries. The officers reportedly offered money to the family to avoid a formal complaint, and the victims claim the public prosecutor delayed taking their statement. Both incidents have prompted calls for investigations and heightened community concern over safety.
