Violent deaths reported in Kenya's Kitui and Kwale counties

Police in Kitui County are investigating a suspected murder‑suicide after the decomposing bodies of John Vundi Munywoki, 34, and his wife Mawia Vundi, 25, were found locked inside their home. The male victim was discovered hanging from the roof rafters, while the female victim had head injuries. No motive, weapon, or suicide note has been identified.

In Kwale County, authorities responded to the lynching of an unidentified man in Chigigini Village after he was accused of causing a resident's genital shrinkage. The victim, believed to be of Somali origin, sustained multiple injuries consistent with a mob assault. Police have opened investigations into both incidents, and no arrests have been reported.

Both cases highlight rising concerns over violent deaths and mob justice in Kenya, prompting ongoing police inquiries.
