Violent incidents in Argentine neighborhoods provoke police action

In the Santa Fe neighbourhood of Barrio Centenario, a crowd of more than one hundred people attacked, looted and set fire to a house after a sexual‑abuse allegation against its male resident. Police forces, including special operations and fire services, evacuated the family, detained the accused man and secured the severely damaged property.

In Pilar, Buenos Aires Province, a family reported threats from a man accused of aggressive debt‑collection. After a judicially ordered raid on the suspect’s home, police seized dozens of 9 mm and .32 calibre ammunition rounds and an air‑gun. The family, whose children were specifically threatened, is seeking urgent protection measures and the suspect’s detention.

Both incidents illustrate escalating community violence and the involvement of Argentine law‑enforcement agencies in responding to threats and mob actions.
