Violent incidents reported in Eswatini and South Africa

In Eswatini, police have launched an investigation into an attempted murder following a stabbing in the Phumlamcashi area of Big Bend. A 30-year-old man was allegedly stabbed in the neck during an argument at a local bar on September 3. The suspect reportedly accused the victim of testifying against him in a previous court case.

In South Africa, a 53-year-old man accused of murdering 21-year-old Tshepang Nyathi has abandoned his bail application. The incident occurred on September 1 during Spring Day celebrations in Refilwe, Cullinan, when the accused allegedly stabbed the victim after a group of people attempted to splash water on him. The accused remains in custody, and the murder case has been postponed to October 27 to allow for further investigations.
