Violent incidents reported in multiple French cities
Several violent incidents occurred across different regions in France during late October 2026.
In Montpellier, a violent brawl between two groups in the Cité Gély neighborhood resulted in three brothers being hospitalized with injuries to their faces and arms. The injuries were reportedly caused by firearms, knives, or blunt objects. Approximately forty to fifty members of the local Roma community gathered at Lapeyronie Hospital to check on the victims' condition.
In Échirolles, police intervened in Robert-Buisson Park following reports of gunfire. Officers arrested four suspects—three men aged 17, 20, and 21, and one woman aged 21—in possession of a .22 caliber handgun and approximately ten cartridges. No victims were reported in this incident.
In Cagnes-sur-Mer, a knife fight on the Promenade de la plage left one man injured with wounds to his forearm and cheek. The suspect, a man born in 1975, was apprehended at a local clinic after fleeing the scene in a vehicle. He was reportedly intoxicated at the time of his arrest.
