Violent shootings in Argentina and Chile leave victims dead and wounded

In Argentina, a 52-year-old Federal Police sergeant killed an 18-year-old assailant during an attempted robbery in Virrey del Pino, La Matanza. The incident occurred when a vehicle containing five occupants intercepted the officer outside his home. After a suspect fired a shot that hit a gate, the officer returned fire with three shots, striking one individual. During the subsequent escape, security footage captured one accomplice clinging to the hood of the getaway vehicle.

In Chile, a shooting in the Loncura sector of Quintero left one 20-year-old man dead and a 22-year-old man wounded. The victims were traveling in a vehicle on Route F when unidentified individuals in another car opened fire and fled. The homicide brigade of the Investigations Police (PDI) and the Valparaíso Prosecutor's Office are currently working to identify the perpetrators and reconstruct the attack.
