Istanbul motorcyclist threatens driver, claims to be a boxer – claim later disproved

On 21 June around 17:30 in Kocatepe Mahallesi, Beyoğlu, Istanbul, a motorcyclist identified as F. Ş., 28, confronted driver A. A., 27, over a lane‑blocking dispute. During the confrontation the motorcyclist shouted, “Boksörüm, çeneni kırarım, polis çağırsana,” threatening to break the driver’s jaw and call the police. The exchange was captured by a dashboard camera.

Police from the Beyoğlu Public Order Bureau investigated, located the suspect, and arrested him. The suspect, who has seven prior criminal records, was charged with threat and insult. He was released under judicial control. Medical examination revealed that his arm was in a cast due to a recent fracture, confirming that he is not a professional boxer as he claimed.

The incident was reported by several Turkish news outlets and circulated online with the video footage showing the motorcyclist’s threats and attempts to approach the driver despite by‑standers intervening.
