Violet Grohl performs acoustic cover of The Cure

Violet Grohl performed a stripped-down acoustic cover of The Cure’s 1992 track “High” for Triple J’s “Like a Version” series. The performance, featuring only vocals and acoustic guitar, was intended to capture a “teenage crush kind of feeling” and highlight the song’s original composition.

During an interview, Grohl expressed her long-standing admiration for The Cure, noting that she became a fan around age 12 after hearing “Friday I’m in Love.” She described the track as a “cute love song” with “childlike joy” in its lyrics.

Grohl is currently promoting her debut album, “Be Sweet to Me,” and has upcoming tour dates scheduled across the United States and Europe, including appearances at festivals such as Riot Fest and Shaky Knees.
