Violet Street Bridge budget increases to $7 million

Narrabri Shire Council has approved a budget variation of $487,000 for the Violet Street Bridge project, bringing the total budget to $7 million. The additional funds are intended to cover prolonged project management costs resulting from delays during the piling stage, as well as the construction of bitumen seal approaches.

The budget increase is being funded through the Australian Government’s Roads to Recovery program, ensuring no direct cost to the council. Additionally, the council decided to separate the renewal of a 250 millimetre diameter water main into a distinct project, which will be funded by the council’s Water Fund reserve.
