Ruggeri provided specific details to counter the narrative, noting that she shared a room with Manuela Vialey during the trip and that the situation was actually the opposite of what was described.

Journalist Ángel de Brito reported that both Ruggeri and Occhiato provided their versions of the event. Ruggeri maintained that Occhiato was the one pursuing her throughout the trip, while Occhiato dismissed the claims, noting the incident occurred many years ago when he was much younger.
